Institutes Supported by the IDB

The IDB funds two institutes focused on priority goals for its member countries:

The Institute for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean (INTAL), based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, focuses on capacity-building and training for government officials and civil society representatives on trade and integration issues. It supports research networks devoted to trade-related investigations, publishes specialized newsletters, reports and papers and organizes conferences and workshops.

The Inter-American Institute for Economic and Social Development (INDES) provides training for government officials and public sector managers and other persons involved in the design, execution and evaluation of social policies and programs, with the goal of improving their efficiency and effectiveness for poverty reduction.
