Water and Sanitation Prize
The IDB and FEMSA award public authorities and service operators who have implemented innovative and effective solutions to specific water and sanitation problems.
Every year the Inter-American Development Bank and FEMSA award the Water and Sanitation Prize with the goal of recognizing public authorities and service operators in Latin America and the Caribbean who have implemented innovative and effective solutions to specific water and sanitation problems.
From water sector reforms in Chile to sanitation improvements in Uruguay and solid waste management and informal waste pickers in Brazil, the award aims to highlight successful experiences in three categories: Water, Sanitation, and Solid Waste.
Winners, as well as recipients of special mentions, will receive scholarships financed by the IDB and FEMSA at the Water Center for Latin America and the Caribbean, a research institution jointly developed by the IDB, FEMSA and Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey.
