Completion and Evaluation
See other stages in the project cycle: Preparation, Approval, Implementation

Generally, the final project evaluation process can take at least two months. (See important note)

One of MIF’s main objectives is to evaluate the impacts and results of its operations, aiming to improve both the progress of the project being evaluated and the quality of future projects. As such, each project must complete a midterm and final evaluation. You can find examples of these documents in the Projects section of this website, which houses the MIF projects database.

The executing agency also has to collaborate with the IDB/MIF in activities designed to improve the impact and sustainability of the project, such as sustainability and project completion workshops. The executing agency must also submit all required documentation, including the final report and other items on the MIF Toolkit list.

Also, in some cases, MIF will start carrying out ex-post evaluations about one to two years after the project has ended to better measure and disseminate its impact.
