The IDB hires around 150 staff each year for our headquarters in Washington, DC and our offices in 26 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, Paris and Tokyo. We receive large numbers of applications per vacancy. On average, candidates are contacted about final selection decision within 90 days. Selected applicants are initially offered fixed-term contracts for up to three years.

The main job profiles that the Bank seeks are sector specialists to provide technical advice in the conceptualization, design, orientation, analysis negotiation, execution and evaluation of projects, as well as economists to coordinate and prepare socioeconomic and macroeconomic research and analyses.
