Additional Expatriate Compensation Package for International Staff assigned to the Country Offices:

  • To ensure that the level of real income is similar throughout the different Country Offices, the Bank implemented a Post Adjustment Program, which provides for a financial subsidy where the costs of good and services and housing in the city of assignment are higher than those in Washington, D.C. for a similar level of base pay.
  • For countries with hardship conditions, a benefits scheme includes financial incentives (from 5%-25% of their base salary), rest and recuperation travel outside the country (or city), and power generators.
