Opportunities for Young People
The IDB seeks talented young individuals with a strong work ethic and potential to pursue a rewarding career in the development field in the Latin American and the Caribbean Region. To this effect, the IDB offers the following programs:
- Young Professionals Program - Designed for exceptionally qualified and motivated individuals under the age of 32, who hold graduate degrees and want to start a professional career at the Bank. The two-year program aims to provide Young Professionals with exposure to the different business areas of the Bank and to afford maximum on–the-job training.
- Internship Program - Developed for university students enrolled in graduate programs, under the age of 31, who want to understand and immerse themselves into the dynamics of a development institution. This short-term program (a two to three month engagement) provides students with an opportunity to acquire relevant on-the-job experience related to their academic profile.
- Research Fellow Program - Intended to provide full or part-time graduate or undergraduate students, or recent graduates, from an accredited university with an opportunity to receive, expand and apply their educational and practical experience in areas relevant to their current academic/professional pursuits, for a period of up to two years.
